How does a Magician become an international star? What is it that makes their skills become so desired that clients are willing to fly them, all the equipment, and all their staff around the world to put on a phenomenal show?
I have been studying a lot of millionaires as it has been said that if you want to become a millionaire, then you need to do what millionaires do...follow their habits, and practice what they preach. Well the same applies if you want to become an internationally acclaimed illusionist. So if you going to study one of the biggest magicians in the world then the first name that comes to my mind is Franz Harary.
Franz Harary is an American magician and a genius magic inventor. Franz has appeared on many television shows such as NBC's The World's Greatest Magic, on which Harary made a space shuttle vanish. Designing Illusions was simply a hobby for Harary in the beginning. Between 1982 and 1984, Harary's Odyssey In Illusion team designed and executed illusions for ballet troupes, ice revues, marching bands, and symphony orchestras. It was featured on ABC-TV's live telecast of the 1983 Thanksgiving Day parade in Detroit. At the end of 1983, Harary sent Michael Jackson a videotape of Odyssey In Illusions greatest hits and within a week was invited to perform as part of the Jacksons' "Victory Tour" in 1984. Harary made Jackson levitate and disappear on one side of the stage and reappear with his brothers on the other side. Among other music acts he has designed illusions for are N*SYNC, Cher, Snoop Dogg, Tupac Shakur, Tone Loc, Styx, Dr. Dre, Usher, Boyz II Men, Queen Latifah, Hammer, Tina Turner, Reba McEntire and Missy Elliott.
Franz has a spectacular performance that can fill any venue with gasps of amazement and thunderous applause! But that's not where he stops, he can been seen touring the world designing incredible illusions and not just for other performers. Last month Franz was in India for a secret illusion project. Where he designed the world's first 360° levitation of its kind! He developed a levitating car illusion that spectators could walk about around entirely and see completely above and below the car! It was NOT a digital effect, this was real! It's a brand-new illusion design, and Harary is very proud of it, as he should be!
I can only hope that one day I might be able to see one of Franz Harary's performances as it would certainly be a thrilling and incredible experience.

“Coining the term Mega Magic, Franz Harary has created his own electrifying genre of grand illusion, becoming synonymous with spectacle magic entertainment.”
Marketing for any business requires a lot of time, dedication, focus, and capital. I gradated from Virginia Tech with a business management degree in 2003. In my studies I did take several classes in marketing, but I had no idea how important marketing would be in my line of work in the entertainment industry, but I can tell you it is the one thing I do more than anything else! So I have done a great deal of studying and learning from others who are masters at marketing. There are many magician, performers, mentalists, and even keynote speakers who do this very well, but there is one who stands out better that anyone else I have seen and that person is Benji Bruce.
If you don't know about Benji Bruce I highly recommend you checking out his website:
Benji Bruce started as an entertainer when he was 10 years old. He began building his business empire by performing in restaurants, walking from table to table, performing for small crowds, at the age of 13. He built a six-figure entertainment business to a point where companies like Remax, AAA, Hilton, Furniture First, Best Buy, and several other companies were flying him all over the world to perform. Eventually, Benji was getting asked to speak so he combined his mind reading demonstrations with a powerful speaking message on How To Stay Sharp & Stay Ahead. And instead of just getting on stage to speak, Benji would blow an audience away using mind reading so they could be more engaged with the presentation.
Benji Bruce built his business to six-figures in his 20s and started writing books to teach other professional speakers on how to build their business. He then went on to build an online business training program that helped other entrepreneurs market themselves.
Benji has put out thousands of youtube videos, lectures, seminars, all about sharing the knowledge that he has and teaching others to be successful! Now what Benji does is not just for professional magicians, but rather anyone who owns a business can learn from what Benji teaches.
One of the lessons that I have learned from Benji that I immediately took action to change with my entertainment business, is the importance of being consistent with your branding. You want all of the branding you do to match or else your will not stand out and you will confuse your potential clients. So for example: your website, business cards, youtube channel, social media, billboards, ads, etc. all of it has to look the same. Creating a Brand is critical for your business and marketing that brand in creative ways will really help you stand out among all the other marketing out there.
I could go on for Days...weeks even, with the amount of information that Benji has taught me. I give Benji a great deal of credit for helping to guide me in the right direction with my business. I hope that one day I will have to pleasure to thank Benji in person for all he has done to teach other entertainers to become successful.
Benji has even given specific instructions on how to get interviewed by any News Channel, and goes into great depth as to how powerful this is for your marketing! Check out the video below of Benji performing mind reading on TV.
Benji frequently gets about 10-20 people who he selects to be his pupils usually for only a few hundred dollars or less! He gives lessons direct one-on-one lessons to these people via the internet and teaches them everything the need to know to have a six figure income with their entertainment business!

For over 17 years I have considered myself a variety act performer, but basically the talents that I have learned, have been based on the demand from my clients, or what I find interesting at that time. For example I started off as a clown making balloon animals, doing face painting, juggling, stilt walking, and of course magic. For many years I just focused on being the best that I could at those skills and really honing in on my talent. Then after about 10 years I got to a plateau point where I was very talented, but I was bored with doing the same things and wanted to learn something new. So as my career has progressed I have ventured into some dangerous performance styles, I decided I didn't need the clown makeup anymore and I wanted to really focus on magic as my profession. I learned how to be a fire eater, then a fire breather, I experimented with all fire related magic, fire juggling, etc. So I could put together an entire routine based around fire. This is where I put my life on the line for my audience. Now there are certainly others out there that have been in far more danger than I have put myself in, but its all about the thrill you provide for that audience.
So I want to discuss someone who has recently went viral for a video he did of something that is just brilliant and is also directly related to another one of my talents with bubbles. I do an entire magic show themed around bubbles, which I came up with for my library shows and it was such a big hit I have continued to do it for anyone who desires a bubble themed magic show. You may have seen the viral video of a British Gent dressed to impress in his pinstripe suit with a Sherlock Holmes style pipe and blowing bubbles live on stage at the London Palladium. What I must say here is it really isn't about what he did, but rather how he did it! Denis Lock presented bubbles in a genius way with old world charm and class. The bubble tricks he did were very impressive and does take a great deal of practice and skill to pull off the way that he did. However, this isn't the point. The point is that Denis Lock is a multi-talented performer and he does a spectacular dangerous balancing act that is unlike anyone else I have ever seen. (Video Below).
Denis Lock is able to captivate the audience regardless of if he is a solo act, or when he performs with The English Gents, demonstrating how he is in peak physical condition, plus he has a talent that will leave you astounded. Better yet, he is witty and charming while he performs, so he is able to connect with his audience in a brilliant way. I am so impressed by how he presents his performances that I feel it goes above and beyond his incredible talents! And I think magician could learn a lot from his performance style. His routines are so well thought out, and I hope that one day I have the opportunity to discuss with Denis how he plans his acts.

It would be a real treat to be able to tour the world, share the Gospel, and perform magic and illusion everywhere you go. Ever since March 29th, 2009 which is the day that I was baptized and began my Walk with Jesus I have had the desire to be a Christian Illusionist. I do occasionally get to perform these types of shows, yet they are few and far between. I really admire the passion and dedication that many Christian Illusionist have about finding new ways to perform their effects while presenting Christ in a unique way.
A specific duo husband and wife duo that comes to mind is Dan and Suzie Potter performing together, they are knows as Duzie. Check them out at www.Duzie.com
I am so proud to call Dan and Suzie my friends, they are such amazing people and I so admire what they do. You see they tour all over the world sharing the Gospel. I recently had to pleasure of Bird Sitting their beautiful blue and gold Macaw named Oracle for them as they went on a missions trip to Australia for 2 weeks during the summer. I am so impressed with the knowledge of magic that Dan and Suzie have they really have studied every facet of magic there is to know inside and out. It is awesome to have the kind of connection with a group that has so much experience in the field of magical arts.
One thing I would love to know more about which I hope to soon discuss with Duzie about is how they have been able to overcome so many churches fear of the word "magic". So many churches are turned off by magicians as they fear that it will come across as black magic. For myself I promote it as an Illusion show not a magic show so that can help eliminate some of the negativity toward the word magic from the start. But seeing is believing, so I guess the best way to prove to the churches that think this way is by showing them videos that demonstrate how unique this way of sharing the Gods Words truly is. It really is all in how it is presented and as long as it is presented in a loving way that can also preach a powerful message about Jesus I don't see how it can be misinterpreted.
Dan and Suzie, I pray for you as you continue to share your performance with so many people in so many places around the world! I pray that you will be blessed and that new and exciting adventures are in store for you. I pray that you will get as much or more out of your missions trips as the lives you touch when your performing as well as when your not! Congrats on all you have accomplished and God please watch over them as they travel keep them safe and know they are very much appreciated in all that they do! - Amen.

Agricultural fairs and festivals are in need of entertainment, and a magician can certainly deliver a great experience for the upcoming fairs patrons. But with such a wide range of options how does a fair know who to hire. Well the answer is that all the fairs executives will attend a convention annually, usually 2 conventions. One convention for their state, and one for international performers.
So how can a magician be hired by a fair? or event been seen at one of these conventions?
First of all you will have to attend, now you can choose to just go and give out some business cards, collect some business cards, try to greet and get to know a few of the executives who are walking around. This is an OK method but the chances are slim that you'll be hired. More than anything you will just gain a few connections and that is about it. To be seen you will need to get a vendor booth, do some advertising in the fairs pamphlets they distribute, buy some items in their auctions, offer to take some of the executives you meet out for drinks to discuss your show. All of these things revolve around spending money, so if you don't have it to spend, then save until you do, otherwise your wasting your time and your money.
I can say I wasted thousands of dollars trying to break into the Fair Market without the knowledge that I have now. I'm at the point in my career that I need to try again but do so in the appropriate manner. You see I didn't start locally in my states convention or surround states...no I went for the big international convention right off the bat. Now I did so from the advise I received from a good friend and very talented magician Sean Watson who is a Las Vegas magician, originally from Canada. Sean had the best of intentions for giving me this advice, he genuinely cared about my performance and wanted to see me become successful. However, he didn't share some key information about being overly prepared for the fair market before attending IAFE (International Association of Fairs and Expos). I believe that Sean knew that he attended IAFE every year and, he always has a booth, and he get hired from Fairs all over the country every year because of it. So I took his advice and it failed miserably. One KEY reason why I failed is because I only did it for one year, I didn't see results so I assumed why do it again. I also didn't focus on ONE THING, I was a multi-talented performer so I assumed they would want a variety act but I was wrong. So I gained some real life experience and knowledge from this. I learned that there are steps that you really must take before getting a booth which I did not know at the time.
I encourage you to check out Sean Watson's website at www.watsonsmagic.com
So here is the valuable lesson that I learned, and that I'm going to give to you for FREE!
You HAVE to make personal connections with the executives to be hired! Its not about just showcasing your talent, although that does help you get noticed to begin with. But the fact of the matter is that the fair executives are looking for long lasting relationships. Why is that? Its because they want to make their job easier, so having someone they can rely on to not only show up, but do a great job is really important to them. Their jobs are very busy and require a great deal of preparation and planning, so they need to trust the person they hire wholeheartedly.
How do the Fair Executives build trust with a Magician?
Who offers to take them to the bar? Who comes to their social hours to perform magic tricks in their hotel suites for all their friends? Who shows them a great time, while they are away from their office on this working vacation?
So the key to getting into the fair market is taking the following steps and again this will cost you a lot of money upfront but the return on the investment will be exponential.
1.) FIRST AND FOREMOST BE PREPARED!
Hire a professional photographer and videographer! Be professional and consistent with all of your marketing material, make your booth look professional with signage, a backdrop, flyers, business cards, DVDs, or Thumb drives of your show, have a TV Screen setup playing your show reel at your booth, Even if you have to give away your show to get this footage it is necessary!
2.) Get a Booth at the Local Fair conventions in and around your State. (You're not ready for IAFE yet!)
Advertise with the fair convention in their pamphlets place an ad...the more the better. This isn't so important to get noticed, but rather because your investing into their organization and they want to hire people who invest into their convention so they can afford to keep having the convention and make it bigger and better each year! So you need to spend money with them so they will spend their money on you!
Get a room at the hotel where the convention is at and stay their the night before the convention! Get up super early and get your booth setup early! At the convention you will need some bring some big props or equipment from your show to showcase it. Meet all the other vendors and get to know them personally get their business cards so you can stay connected with them. Every executive you meet that comes up to your booth collect their business cards and ask them key questions about their fair, when is it, where is it, how many days is it, what type of acts have they hired in the past, what type of acts are they looking for, do they want a stage show, a grounds act, or a strolling act?
3.) If your able (only occasionally is this an option) get a spot to Showcase your show, this will be a show in front of a room full of executives and will get you hired if they like you!
4.) 95% of the fairs are Agricultural Fairs...so they like to have acts to can perform with that as a theme. You will be much more likely to get hired if you have a Farm theme to your show.
5.) WINE AND DINE the executives. Get invited to their suites after the Expo and showcase your talent to them with some closeup magic!
6.) Buy stuff in their auctions, they will see you spending money at their fair and they will appreciate it.
7.) Stay connected! The first year you go to the fair expo you probably wont be booked or if you are only by 1 or 2 fairs...DO THE BEST JOB YOU CAN, get references, video testimonials and have proof that these fairs LOVED your service. Make NEW promo showing that footage (with permission).
8.) DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR...AFTER 2 YEARS You will have enough knowledge to decided about IAFE on your own!
9.) Lastly, there is one more thing I learned from going to IAFE...All the fairs have assistance that go with them that walk around and write down who is in their state or nearby. Then those are the booths the executives visit first and foremost. Why? Because they don't have to spend as much money to get those performers at their fair as they won't need to travel far. So this is why it is so important to attend that local fair. Because they will have seen you their, they will remember you and they will now take your seriously as they see you in Vegas!
Good Luck and I hope this has helped you make a decision on whether or not to pursue becoming a Fair Magician.

So I've been having a conversation with fellow magicians about the word "Best", and I will admit I have been one to use this word in my own advertising of my services. But I now have a better understanding of how and when to say that you are the best at anything, and for the most part you should just avoid it. The key is to remain humble at all times, I never want to come across as arrogant or cocky. I simply want to showcase to potential clients that I'm an OUTSTANDING magician...But saying your are the best simply belittles your fellow magicians. So I have come to find that a great way to solve this is to say I'm ONE OF THE BEST. It seems minuscule but that subtle change makes a huge difference especially among your peers and I think this would apply to anyone not just magicians.
So what then classifies someone as the Best? In regards to magicians, it could be awards that have been won, although I think that is bias because your being judged by other magicians and not layman...unless you've performed on Americas Got Talent that is. Most all Magic Conventions that have competitions will be judged by other magicians and thus they know things that a layman wouldn't know. So then is it testimonials...well no because all magicians will have testimonials and they will always be the best ones from the clients that had the best things to say...but they also have nothing to compare to, at least they usually don't. So that only leaves one thing in my eyes to can classify you as the best and that is your reputation, does that reputation proceed you are your morals ethical and do you remain humble at all time...if these things are true about you, then it is my opinion that you should consider yourself ONE of the best. Granted having a few awards too doesn't hurt anything.
Now aside from the Big Names in magic who everyone knows, I want to bring some attention to someone who I consider one the Very Best in the magic business. I believe many would agree with me, that it would be the incredibly talented Thrillusionist: David DaVinci (aka. Dave Womach). Dave and his wife Jamie along with their super adorable daughter are Cruise Ship Magicians / Illusionists who are currently tour with Norwegian Cruise Line from Boston to Bermuda. I must say I have a lot of respect for what Dave and Jamie do and I can't believe that they are able to do it with a young child on board the ship with them too!
Here's a little about David DaVinici's Show:
Suspend your disbelief with the magic of world class Thrillusionist, David DaVinci, as he introduces you to his augmented reality. In this production, fiction is real, and deception is enjoyed. Prepare to be mystified by mind boggling illusions and jaw dropping magic, seamlessly fused with exotic parrots that materialize from thin air and perform their own artful demonstrations of dexterity. You’ll laugh, you’ll cheer, your jaw will hit the floor, as David DaVinci presents his interpretation of the age-old art of magic and illusions, in “Thrillusionist.”
So why is it that I speak so highly of Dave and Jamie?
Well first of all, I have never seen anyone who is as devoted to the art of magic, and sharing his knowledge with so many other magicians. For example: Dave recently spent hundreds of hours interviewing the best of the best in the entertainment industry and sharing the interviews in a Magic Masters Summit which he gave away for FREE for 1 week. This was one of the best magic seminars I have ever seen and to think he gave it away is simply incredible! But more so than that Dave and Jamie are also an incredible bird handlers/trainers and since Dave was a teenager he and his brother, and now Jamie too, have helped so many others to train their birds with an outstanding business called www.birdtricks.com
Not to mention another aspect of Dave's career where he has taught survival skills with his survival summit, which I could go on about this for days as well...
So Dave really has spent his entire life sharing his knowledge with others and I commend him for doing so as I myself have learned a great deal and I have been able to incorporate exotic birds into my performances because of the lessons I've learned from Dave and Jamie.
I can only hope to meet Dave and Jamie and see their show live as it would be a true honor...though I might be a little star struck, but after watching over 400 hours of their videos I feel like I know them personally!
If you ever get a chance to see their show I can promise you one thing. You will not be disappointed!
-Aaron Clark (aka. The Amazing Ziggy)
So many of you know that there are famous magicians that have done incredible things to bring Magic into the limelight, names that I'm sure would come to mind are David Copperfield, David Blaine, Criss Angel, Penn & Teller, and maybe even one of my favorites Lance Burton. But not many people realize how magic is actually a big part of many very famous actors lives. The first one that comes to mind for me is the very talented "NPH" Neil Patrick Harris. For anyone who is not familiar with him, here is his bio from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Patrick_Harris
So what has NPH really done to help bring Magic into the limelight?
I think the real question is what HASN'T he done !?!?!
Well he sometimes will showcase magic in a very subtle way. As in the 2015 performance when he hosted the 87th Oscars and he did a fantastic shadow routine featuring a magicians hat and cane appearance. This was during the opening scene of his Broadway style performance which of course he pulls off with sheer class. But NPH really brings his Magic A-Game when it come to his role as a TV Show Host for Best Time Ever! NPH has so many amazing talents which he showcases on a frequent basis, from flaming tight rope walking, fire breathing, cocktail bottle juggling, a catwall trampoline acrobat performance, to pogo sticking into a back flip amidst a thrilling party scene. But no matter what he does he always finds a way to sneak in magic tricks that really enhance his performances! What else can I say I just love the way he does what he does!
Keep up the great work Neil!
NPH is Legend....wait for it....dairy!

Atlanta is a big city, but its not a place where you will see a lot of street performers like you would if you went to Washington DC, New York City, Los Angeles, etc... Now there are a few street performers in Atlanta and they are located really in a few select locations, mostly where people are required to wait in long lines as this will give them an audience without have to work to build a crowd. In other cities like in Times Square you can pretty much always expect to see a street performer any time of the day. Well in Atlanta that doesn't hold true, the street performers really only come up during peak hours and they really have to know schedules for events that are happening such as is there a Falcons Game, or is there a Beyonce concert, etc.
Now there is one street performer who happens to also be a magician like myself, whom I have gotten to know over the past few years while performing events at Skyview Atlanta and I would like to tell you a little about Aubrey Seals (aka. The Light Skin Houdini). Aubrey has a very personable style to his performance where he likes to ask a lot of questions and get to know his spectators on a more personal level. This style of Banter allows for him to come across as very smooth and sometime flirtatious. Aubrey performs in a few locations around Atlanta but mainly you can find him in front of The Big Ferris Wheel downtown called Skyview Atlanta which is located directly across from Centennial Olympic Park. I've had some conversations with Aubrey about being a street performer and is it something that is profitable. And without the shadow of a doubt it is. I won't go into specific numbers but I will say Aubrey is able to make a decent living performing magic on the streets of Atlanta. Now what is the benefit to this and what are some negatives? First of all you don't have a boss! That's huge! But not having a boss doesn't mean you don't have to work hard. Aubrey works very hard and is one of the most determined professional entertainers I know. Know wait did I just call Aubrey a professional? Yes, Yes I did...just because someone is working on the streets asking for a donation for entertaining you doesn't mean that person isn't professional. You see Aubrey has devoted YEARS of his life to learning a skill set which allows him to make a living, and to me that is the definition of a professional.
So why then does Aubrey choose to work the streets instead of focusing on events around the city?
Well it's pretty simple, because what he does works! It pays his bills and it allows him to constantly become better at performing. Imagine how many times he has performed that same card trick over and over as different groups have passed him by. Now think about the Event performer who has practiced that card trick a few hundred times in front of a mirror and to their friends and family members. What's the difference? Real World Experience...learning how the audience will react, learning what works with your banter and what doesn't. To me it would seem that a street magician will have a way better act then! So Here is my advice which I am giving away for free to anyone willing to listen that is a professional magician out there.
Go work the streets in the town where you live...Give away your performance for free in exchange for donations from the spectators. If you are humble before them, you show them something amazing, then they will tip you. Now I don't tell you to go do this because I think you need to earn a living this way, what I am suggesting is that you utilize this form of performance to enhance your magic and illusions to take them to the next level. Gain the real world experience from a live audience and your going to have a much better show than just performing it for friends and family and getting bias opinions about your new trick. It will also help you come up with better routines for your old routines which you may think don't need improvement. The point here is this, as Aubrey Seals would say, take the advice from DJ Khaled and perform "Another One!"

While at events I am frequently asked the same question: How many children do I have?
You see I perform for children on a very frequent basis and I love entertaining children. I believe it takes a special type of understanding of a child to be able to entertain, teach, or even to work around children regularly. The main thing you have to have is patience, you must have the very best patience to work around children.
So why then do people assume that I have children? I guess it's because I am so patient with the children and they see the father in me with the way I interact with their children at events. Well they are correct, I do have 3 kids, and they are my whole world. I love being a Dad, and from a young age I always knew I wanted to have kids of my own. I distinctly remember growing up and always having younger kids flock to me, they always wanted me to be their friends. Even before I got into magic. I learned how to juggle from my uncle starting at the age of only 4 years old. I remember having a juggling club with the neighborhood kids. As I grew I became more and more interested into magic so that lead to the younger kids loving me that much more! What's funny is I can see that same thing happening to my children now as they are growing up...I guess I know where they get it from.
So does having children make you a better performer then? I think so...
Well I think it gives you a better understanding of what the parents are wanting. I have always been good at putting on a show and making the kids laugh. But it wasn't until I had children of my own that I understood the importance of having a personal connection with your audience. I will give you a great example of what I mean. If you have never been to the Georgia Aquarium I highly recommend you going, as it is an amazing experience. They have a brand new show called the Dolphin Celebration, and let me tell you, this show is fantastic! However, the show they use to have was not so great! The old show had the Dolphins doing pretty much the exact same things that they do in the new show, a few things are different, but not much...But here is what they did to make that show so much better. They gave a personal connection to the audience by allowing a child from the audience to come down and interact with the dolphins and be part of the show. That kid will never forget the experience and neither will the audience! The old show had great music and lighting, it had singing, choreography, acting and it was more of a Broadway type show. But the problem was this...its not Broadway, and the actors were mediocre at best. So there was a lot of "over acting" they were trying to hard, and they didn't connect with the audience at all. The dolphins were fun to watch, but it was painful to watch those actors & singers. I am so glad that someone gave the Georgia Aquarium the hint because their new show is spectacular and I highly recommend everyone check it out!

The new presentation is a fun and exciting experience that showcases dolphin behavior and their relationship with their trainers while incorporating important education messages. Focusing on the beauty, grace, athleticism, and intelligence of bottlenose dolphins, this presentation uses a variety of new behaviors that focus on each characteristic.AT&T Dolphin Celebration is included in Aquarium general admission. Seating is first come first served, based on available seating. Guests are advised to arrive at the theater at least 30 minutes prior to the showtime.
Show times vary daily.
So there are many people that say you shouldn't talk about Religion, or Politics when it comes to your business.
Now I will agree with the Politics part of that...I think we can all agree we hear to much Politics anyway! Not to mention if I see another post on Facebook about Hilary or Trump, I think I will just vomit! Who really cares anyway, they are all crooks and liars!
I however don't agree about Religion...I think we should all be more open and willing to share our passion for Christ, Now I am not pushing Christ on anyone...nor do I think that is right. But I can tell you about Christ and let you make your own choices for your own beliefs. You can be a Buddhist, a Muslim, A Jew, or whatever...but its my responsibility as a Christian to share Jesus with everyone I meet. But it's all about the approach, it needs to be done so first and foremost by living by example, as you can't preach it if you aren't living it.
The biggest and one of the most important things I do and that I share the most with others whom I meet is that I pray. I pray every day, I pray in the shower, I pray when I'm driving, I pray before I take the stage, I pray before a meal, but most importantly when I pray I give thanks for the many blessing I have been given. Its important to remain humble before God and tell him that you appreciate all he does for you. What is important is that in what ever you do you share the love of Jesus with everyone you meet and by doing so you will be blessed.
So for me it is my job to be on stage in front of large groups of people, now I don't feel that it would be wise for me to shove my beliefs in others faces...so I choose to be subtle and share my personal testimony and relationship with Christ when asked. But I am sure to showcase the good news about Christ in creative ways, I do so using Illusions. Can I turn water into wine? well no...but can I make you think that I can...well yes. But its all about how you present it because I don't want to take any credit for my illusions, as I am not a wizard...I'm an entertainer, I just showcase some incredible talents and I choose to do so while I also share the Gospel.
Now I don't have a seminary degree, and I am fairly new to being a Christian as I was not raised going to church even, I was actually taught that it was more important to spend time on the Lake than it does to waste your time going to church. So what I have is real life experiences that have lead me to believe in Jesus, which is honestly lead me to be a much more faithful Christian.
There are some other incredibly talented speakers / illusionists out there. Many of which I'm proud to call my friends, but I can honestly say one of the best in the business, whom I consider a friend as well as a mentor to me is none other than the amazingly talented Shane Wilbanks. Shane has over 20 years of full time ministry experience. He has a fantastic ability to capture an audiences attention, he truly connects with his audience with love while communicating lessons of truth and challenging lives to be more Christ-like, all while creating a sense of wonder & amazement thru illusions he performs.
I would love for you to know more about Shane Wilbanks check out his website:
